I’m an herbalist by trade at the Root and Reed Herbal Apothecary and like to use a lot of natural herbs and plants to help facilitate healing for people and animals.
I keep a small emergency kit in my car filled with natural products to help in any needed situation.
Several weeks ago I was given a sample of your clotting powder. I stuck it into my emergency kit and forgot about it until a day ago, when I came across a very large snapping turtle blocking traffic.
It turned out the he was run over by a large truck which cracked his shell in several places, including an area that sent a triangular shaped portion of it into his flesh and was causing him to bleed out.
A kind stranger helped me to get him off the road, and I ran to get my kit from the car to see if I could stop the bleeding, and clean him up.
After I pulled the piece of shell out of the wounded area, it started to gush blood. I packed it with gauze, and saw a packet of your clotting powder in that compartment, so I ripped it open and poured it liberally into the wound. Then covered it again with the gauze for a couple minutes.
Like magic the wound stopped bleeding after a couple minutes and I was able to clean up the rest of his shell, and used it on areas that were less concerning.
Within about 20 minutes his wounds were not bleeding at all and I was able to clean him up and get him moved to a safer area away from the road and closer to the pond that he was trying to reach.
He regained his ability to walk a bit more after he recovered from the shock of being hit. I then cleaned him up, and gave him some water....and he seemed ready to move on his way.
He was a big one...about 60 lbs. and apparently very old according to the man whose pond he apparently lived near.
I believe he would have bled out and died if it weren’t for your clotting powder.
What a wonderful product you’ve created. I think this will not only benefit the human medical community, but be a wonderful product for all emergency medical folks along with the veterinary community, and people in the farming community for emergency purposes with their animals.
If that turtle could speak.......I know he would thank you himself for creating a product that most likely saved his life. May you have MUCH success with not just this wonderful product, but with future ones as well.
